End of Year Statements

Every year, FaithStreet sends a statement to each giver with an accounting of their FaithStreet Giving for the previous year.

When will EOY reports be sent?

We’ll send annual reports January 14, 2019.

How can I include the IRS Giving Substantiation message in EOY reports?

You have the option to include the language to make this report an IRS-friendly charitable receipt.

To include Giving Substantiation message in EOY reports

  1. Visit your church dashboard. In the sidebar to the left, click "Settings".
  2. Click "End of Year"
  3. Choose "Yes, include the statement. All gifts are 100% deductible."
  4. Be sure to save your changes.

What’s this all about? The IRS has specific requirements around charitable giving receipts. Basically, when you give something to a non-profit organization and receive something beyond warm fuzzy feelings and spiritual growth, the IRS doesn’t count that as a donation, and it can’t be deducted, and end of year receipts should be clear about that. Fuller guidance can be found here and here, as well as with your local tax professional.

I will send my own EOY statements. How can I opt out?

If for any reason you’d like to opt-out of these reports being sent, you can do that from the settings page under "End of Year."

To opt out of FaithStreet's delivery of EOY reports

  1. Visit your church dashboard. In the sidebar to the left, click "Settings".
  2. Click "End of Year".
  3. Choose "No, don't send EOY reports to givers".
  4. Be sure to save your changes.

How can I change my time zone?

If you haven't set this already, we recommend update the timezone on your FaithStreet “clock.” Once you set your timezone, last minute 2018 gifts charged at 11pm New Year’s Eve will be properly attributed to 2018 in your time rather than 3am New Year’s Day 2019 our time.

Setting your time zone

  1. Visit your church dashboard. In the sidebar to the left, click "Settings"
  2. Select the time zone your church is in.
  3. Be sure to save your changes.

One last thing about time zones: Your reports and spreadsheets will now be explicit about the time zone if you haven’t set a time zone yet. You’ll see (UTC) label on Date fields. Once set, the time zone will be implicit and only shown in spreadsheets and your settings page.
